Module 6

EDUC  8842 Final Video Project v.1

Such as it is, here it is.  I sure can say it is easier to stand in front of a class than a camera!
Click the link to go to it, for some reason inserting the video isn't working for me.

  1. Jeff,

Nice job on your video. I liked the video insets with you talking and describing the other video. It was easier to understand what you were saying to watch and listen both. The sideways video threw me - I'm glad you mentioned it later! You mentioned in the video that achieving higher learning is a challenge in an online environment. Did you reading lend any suggestions on things online instructors can do to assess that higher learning? I know that collaboration and team work are helpful in addressing the challenge. I still struggle with the instructor role and responsibilities in the process, however.

    1. I suppose it is a matter of judgment to some degree. As instructors we set the guidelines and then must let the student find the best way to demonstrate what the acquired during the process. Specifics are good in rubrics and depending on the level of student ability.

  2. Jeff,
Your video presentation was good and adding the inset gave it a professional touch. Would you like to share the resources used?

    1. I used the Camtasia platform, I have very poor video and audio capturing systems. What came with the laptop and my Kodak had to do all the heavy lifting.

  3. Jeff,

I really liked your commentary added as an insert to your video. You were creative in the presentation of your information, and I enjoyed the sunset at the end as well.

What do you recommend for instructors in an online learning environment in order to gain student participation and ways to assess their performance?

  4. Creating and environment where students are challenged and eager to show what they have accomplished seems the best way. For me, it is ways to work in the Georgian Bay sunsets.

  5. Jeff,
I liked your video. There was one part when you went sideways and that throw me off. Is there any way that you can fix that?

  6. Jeff,

Your video was very appealing to watch. The images were wonderful and your content was informative. I find it amazing that when given the same rubric, individuals can come up with so many different final products.

  7. That is the beauty of the online experience! True assessment of the product by our students with their own flairs! Thanks for looking in!

  8. Jeff, the video was put together very well. I also used the inset video, but your camera must have been better than mine :) Good Job. Jan

  9. Jeff,
I really enjoyed watching your video and listening to the background music. I have to agree with Simone all the images were wonderful and your narration blended well with all the graphics.I don't work well with rubrics, but you did a great job following our rubric. Was this your first time creating a video presentation? Great work!
